As I mentioned in the last post, O&M bridges the gap between luxury and natural hair care products. I have had a hard time finding many salon brands that create Shampoo and Conditioner that are free from nasty chemicals that irritate my scalp. O&M products are free from sulphates, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, MIT, triclosan and sodium chloride.
Maintain The Mane Shampoo
Maintain The Mane Shampoo contains Rosemary and Sage to promote a healthy scalp and add moisture. It is designed for normal hair or moderately colored hair and is appropriate for daily use- this is perfect for me as I tend to wash my hair most days. I specifically need a gentle formula like Maintain The Mane as when I use a more harsh shampoo-my scalp becomes very dry and very itchy. Since this shampoo doesn't contain sulphates I was concerned that it wouldn't lather well- this is not the case, it lathers very well and feels like my hair is getting a good clean whilst using it. Sometimes if I have some product buildup from using hairspray and other products, I will do a double shampoo to ensure my hair is thoroughly washed. This has a beautiful scent which lasts well in the hair, it is a fruity scent and I can't quite describe it except to say that it's lovely.

Maintain The Mane Conditioner
Maintain The Mane Conditioner contains silk proteins to detangle and smooth the hair and also offers UV protection. This is also designed for normal hair or hair that is moderately colored. This conditioner provides just enough hydration for my normal hair. Sometimes when I have used conditioner daily my hair can become a little oily, even by the end of the day after using it. The O&M conditioner doesn't cause this to happen which is another win for me. I wouldn't recommend this for hair that needs more intense hydration, it is much better suited to hair that is not too dry. After using this I still like to use O&M Know Knott detangler- I will be reviewing this soon also.

I am so glad to have trialled O&M Maintain The Mane. I recently tried a similar range of sulphate free Redken products called Natures Rescue, initially I thought the shampoo and conditioner were decent due to the fact they were free from nasties but the O&M shampoo and conditioner absolutely beats Natures Rescue. I will definitely be purchasing Maintain The Mane again and if I choose to color my hair I will look at using a different range from the O&M product offering.
